Twenty Cent, South Africa, 2023, Bronze Plated Steel
South Africa, 2023, Twenty Cent(20c), Bronze plated Steel, Republic of South Africa(RSA) Series, fourth Decimal Series(2023 to date)
The Twenty Cent(20c) Bronze-Plated Steel coin change is very striking, replacing the flower - the Protea to the Aloe from 2023.
The South African Reserve Bank released the fourth decimal coin series on 3 May 2023. The fourth decimal coin series is based on the theme of deep ecology, which celebrates the interconnectedness of humans and other living organisms as an integral part of the environment.
The SARB has also retained the 11 official languages of South Africa which are rotated on a 10-year cycle to ensure that every language is represented on the coin In order to reflect every official language in the currency, the "South Africa" imprint appears multiple times in different languages: three times on the R5 coin, once on the R1, and twice on each of the R2, 50c, 20c, and 10c coins.
Its border has also dropped from a nonagon and is now a heptagon (7-sided).
